Human Rights Promotion

CSU supports promotion of rights of persons with Disabilities while aiming at influencing legislation’s, policy and program planning and implementation to include Persons with Disabilities. We believe this is the only sustainable way of looking issues of disability. We provide models for inclusive development as well as direct lobbying and advocacy for improvement in policy and practice to increase participation of Persons with Disability in development. Campaign and advocacy is a cross-cutting issue in all our programs although we have standalone human rights programs. We are guided by both international human rights instruments such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and local legislation’s such as the 2006 Disability Act and Disability Policy.
