National Coordinator

Annet has 7 years of experience in development work. She holds the Master of Business Administration from Hope International University California, US, Bachelor of Development Studies from Makerere University Kampala and a Certificate in Project Planning and Management.She is responsible for co-ordinating the Nation wide work of CSU including Projects and the Cheshire Services.



Head of Programmes

Richard holds the MA (Disability Studies-Special and Inclusive Education) from University of Roehampton London UK and the University of Karolina Praha (Czech Republic), Master of Institutional leadership and Management from Uganda Management Institute-Kampala, Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) from Makerere University and the Diploma in Secondary Education (Business Studies) from Kyambogo University.

Richard has also attended short trainings in Resource mobilization, strategic planning and management, organization conflict management, general management of organizations, project planning and management, NGO management, financial management, inclusive development and proposal writing.Richard has altogether 14 years of work in education, disability and development, public administration and project management. Before joining CSU in 2008, Richard worked with Ministry of Health as a Hospital Administrator at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital, with Uganda Association of Private Vocational Institutes/German Development Services (DED) as Regional Manager (Mid Western Uganda), Uganda National Action on Physical Disabilities as Finance and Administration Officer, ‘Brent Association of Disabled Persons (BADP) and Association of Moslems with Disabilities (AMD) Nesden, North London as Administration Assistant. Richard is a self motivated person who always strives to create a difference in whatever he does. In December 2013, Richard completed his training in Human Rights at Columbia University in New York. 



GEC Project Manager

Leonard holds the Master of Institutional Leadership and Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI)-Kampala,Bachelor degree of Development Studies from Kyambogo University. He is a Development Worker with bias in institutional and Community Development. His interest is mainly in design and delivery of community development programs, governance and advocacy, strategic planning and institutional development, cultural dynamics and management. He has 6 years of working experience working as a training facilitator in the fields of Livelihoods, Human Rights and Disability. Leonard is currently the Project Manager for the CSU’s “Girl’s Education Challenge project in Kampala”. 

He has previous worked as a Livelihoods Training Officer on the Leonard Cheshire Disability Uganda Livelihoods Project from 2011-2014 and Project Coordinator for the CSU EIDHR Human Rights Project implemented in Sironko and Bukwo districts from 2012-2014. Also he worked as a Young Voices Facilitator in the promotion of rights of Persons with Disabilities (2010-2011). Before joining CSU, Leonard worked with Kamwokya Youth Development Association in 2009 as a Community Development Officer. He has vast experience in Project planning and Management, Resource Mobilization, Research and data analysis among others. 



Monitoring and Evaluation Officer





Finance and Administration Manager

John holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce (Accounting option) from Makerere University Kampala. He has 6 years experience in working with donor funded projects. John is a self driven worker, skilled in donor financial reporting and management.


Inclusive Education Officer

Peter holds a Bachelors Degree in Community Based Rehabilitation from Kyambogo University and is completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute. He has worked for Action for Children as a Training Officer (Credit and Income generating Projects); Action for Development (ACFODE) as a Resource Centre Officer; Plan Uganda as a Data Entry Clerk and; GOAL Uganda as a Lead Volunteer for 1 year.Peter has undergone several capacity building trainings including; Training of Trainers (ToT); Strategic Management, Research and M&E. He comes with a lot of experience especially in the disability field.


Child Protection Officer

Hajira holds the Masters in Institutional Management and Leadership from Uganda Management Institute, Bachelor of Social Works and Social Administration of Makerere University. She currently works as Child Protection Officer,with CSU post appointments as Inclusive Education officer and Livelihoods officer. With these, she gained expertise in implementation of programs targeting PWDs for inclusion in development and education. Hajira has also previously worked with the International Rescue Committee in Northern Uganda and has gained vast experience in working with conflict affected communities. She also has experience in working with OVCs during her work with Uganda Women Efforts to Save Orphans.


GEC Documentation Officer

Aloysius is a dynamic, innovative and equality activist who is very passionate about working with marginalized groups with particular interest in Persons with Disabilities for Inclusive Development. He holds a First Class Diploma in Social Development of Uganda Martyrs University and is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Social Development in the same University. Aloysius also holds certificates in sign language interpretation and has participated in short courses in Community Based Rehabilitation, DeafBlindness,PRA Tools and Methods and Training of Trainers. He has six years experience in disability work and has previously worked as Community Support Worker at Cheshire Services Uganda-supporting livelihoods of Persons with Disabilities in Buikwe district, 1 year as a Social worker for Nkokonjeru Providence Cheshire Home and Services and Sense International Uganda as a Community Based Worker/resource person.

Aloysius is also an Independent consultant focusing on Social Development consultancy work. He has a passion for ICT and skills in Digital Information Management, Project proposal design and development.



Project Accountant-Kampala

Johnson holds the Bachelor's degree of Business Administration from Nkumba University and has over six years of experience working in the field of accounting,finance and administration in multi-medium sized private companies and Not-for-profit organizations.He joined Cheshire Services Uganda in 2012 and is a registered student of CPA. Johnson has also enrolled for Professional Finance Cooperative Management for Savings and credit Cooperative Society in 2010/2011-a distance learning programme offered by Moshi University in collaboration with Uganda Cooperative Alliance.



Project Assistant(Field Liaison)-Kampala

Olive holds the degree of Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University and five years of experience working with marginalized populations especially Persons with Disabilities and Orphans. Previously she has worked as a Community Support Worker with Cheshire Services Uganda supporting livelihoods of PWDs in Buikwe district. Olive is passionate about working with all kinds of People with disabilities.



Project Assistant(Field liaison)-Kampala

Ketrah holds the Bachelor of Adult and Community Education degree from Kyambogo and has a 5 year experience in working with grass roots communities. She has been engaged in mobilizing and sensitizing community groups of persons with disabilities to participate in development programmes, training of communities and providing counseling and providing monitoring support to community groups of Persons with Disabilities.




Project Assistant(Field Liaison)-Kampala

Lawrence holds a post Graduate Diploma in Project planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute. the Bachelor of Development Studies degree from Gulu University (Uganda) and has also attended short courses in computer skills as well as numerous learning and training workshops.

Before joining CSU in 2014 , Lawrence worked with Network for Community Development Services as both the Community Development Coordinator and Ag. Project Manager respectively on the Wayfoward project in 2012/2013. Lawrence has also worked with Integrated Community Based Initiatives (ICOBI) as a Social worker on the OVC Empower project between 2009/2012 as well as with Good Care Uganda Foundation as a Social worker between 2008/2009.Lawrence has also done research work as a Research Assistant with National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Research International amongst others and has a passion for working with vulnerable communities to improve their standards of living.

Bwire holds the Degree of Development Studies from Makerere University and has previously worked with National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda(NUDIPU) advocating for the Rights of marginalized Disabilities on the Human Rights Project,a Project Assistant with National Union of Deaf Blind Persons in Uganda on the Membership in Buyende district. Bwire has also volunteered with SORAK and has attended trainings on the Human Rights of PWDs.Bwire has interest in working with vulnerable groups especially Persons with Disabilities to uplift their standards of living and advocate for their human rights.



Education Social Worker-Kampala

Gertrude has previously has worked as a Project Assistant on the CSU Human Rights in Sironko where she has gained substantive experience in promotion and protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and their inclusion in development.

 Before joining CSU in 2012, Gertrude has had worked with World Food Programme for Eastern Uganda,Extended Participatory Rural Appraisal Facilitator with Buwalasi Sub County in Sironko district for 3 years, Integrated Food Policy Research Institute as a Research Enumerator as well as the Electoral Commission. She holds the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences from Kyambogo University.

Martha has a degree of Bachelor of Arts in social Sciences (Social Administration and Sociology) of Kyambogo University. She worked with ANPPCAN Iganga for one year as a Data entrant and volunteer Assistant. She is good at communicating with children and works with every person regardless towards the achievement of set goals. She strives to ensure that the Girls with Disabilities are enrolled and complete school for their betterment.

Angella is a professional social worker with a degree she acquired from Makerere University. She has worked with BRIT-OLAM Jewish Volunteer Movement under Nagenda International Academy of Art and Design as a Social Worker and Volunteer Coordinator. In her position, she worked with women, youths and children. Angella believes in supporting Girls with Disabilities access educational services as a panacea to their well being.

Doreen has a degree of Bachelors in Social work and Social Administration of Kyambogo University and has been in the social development arena, particularly working with OVCs and correctional services in correctional centres. Doreen worked with Family Life Education Programme (FLEP) Jinja as a counselor, volunteered with ANPPCAN Jinja, worked with Uganda Prison Services – Jinja (Women’s wing) as a counselor and Buddu Social Development Association as a Social Worker.Doreen joins Cheshire Services Uganda with experience in resettling street children and working with other child-support stakeholders in order to better the plight of the most marginalised Children with Disabilities.

Josephine is a professional teacher with a Diploma in Education and finalisng her degree in Adult and Community Education at Kyambogo university. She is so passionate about Persons with Disabilities more so, children and she hopes that the works of her hands continually improve their plight.

Ruth holds a Bachelors of Arts degree with Education (BA.Ed) from Ndejje University, a certificate as a co-facilitator/ peer educator from BONITA Entebbe. She is particularly skilled in communication and community work and a result oriented development worker.

Aisha holds a Bachelors Degree in Community Based Rehabilitation(CBR) from Kyambogo University.She has three years of work experience having previously worked as a Bank Teller with Stanbic bank-Mukono branch and a Counselor for the Aged People at Reach One Touch One Ministries(ROTOM) IN 2013 from where she joined CSU in 2014.Aisha has interest in working with marginalized populations and treasures her role as an Education Social Worker at Cheshire Services Uganda as it gives her opportunity to support the learning needs of Girl With Disabilities

Josephine is a flexible,adaptive and trainable person who can work under any condition.She holds the Bachelors Degree in Business Administration(accounting option) from Makerere University Business School.Previously,Josephine has volunteered with UNAPD as a trainee in the Accounts and Finance Department, Kevina Bakers in the Finance and Administration department and a night shift supervisor. She has also volunteered with Nkokonjeru Providence Cheshire Home in the finance and Administration department and supervision of small projects.



Project Driver

Ibrahim has more than 8 years of experience in driving. He holds the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education in addition to the driving license.He has worked with; Micro-enterprise development network-an affiliate of World Vison Uganda,PriceWaterHorseCoopers Limited under matching grant facilities for Capacity building,Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development and Rural Finance Service Programme under Ministry of Finance planning and Economic Development.



Project Driver

Musa previously worked with Joy Dominion Academy Girls’ High School as a School Driver for 8 months and at Kabi Auto Enterprises as the organization’s driver for one year. He holds a degree of Bachelor of Arts with Education of Gulu University and a Driving License (Class B and C) and a general driving experience of six years.He has been a Project driver for CSU for 4 years.



Office Assistant(Kampala)

David holds the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education(UACE)and has two years of experienced in Office work. He previously worked with the MONUSCO(Entebbe) as a waitress in the Transit Camp.
